What we do

Social Car Scheme
This scheme can be used by members when they need transport for – Shopping, Doctor, Dentist, Chiropodist, Optician, Visit Friends / Family, Hospital (visits only, not appointments), Social, Further Education, Lunch Clubs.

The scheme is run by using volunteer drivers who drive their own vehicles.  All appropriate checks are undertaken on our volunteers, e.g. DBS (Disclosure Barring Service) check and references.  An annual membership fee is payable to join the scheme.  Passengers assist with the cost of the journey by making a contribution per mile.  A minimum charge is applicable.

Minibus Brokerage Scheme
This scheme is available to local non profit making groups who need fully accessible transport.  Bookings are subject to vehicle and driver availability.  Groups can provide their own drivers, providing they meet our training standards.

The minibuses can be booked for – Group Outings, Theatre Trips, Shopping, Kids Clubs, Restaurants, Social Clubs, Exercise Classes, Luncheon Clubs, Meetings.

An annual membership fee is payable to join the scheme.  Groups assist with the cost of the journey by making a contribution, depending on usage.

BCT organised Day Trips
Throughout the year, a number of outings are arranged on our accessible minibuses, using a volunteer driver.  The trips are planned in advance and members are notified.  Trips can be around various parts of Essex, such as Essex Villages, or perhaps a trip to a shopping centre.  Places must be booked in advance for any of the trips.  Please contact us for further information and the schedule of trips planned.

To access any of our schemes, you must be a member.  You can contact the office to request a membership form. When your registration is confirmed, you will be given a Membership Number and then you can call to make a booking.

The booking line for these schemes is available from 9.30am until 12.30, Monday to Friday.  You may call at any time from 9.30am until 4.00pm for any other enquiries.  Please call 01277 228080.

Brentwood Community Hospital - Brentwood service

808 registered timetabled Bus Service serving Brentwood Community Hospital and Brentwood.

Brentwood Community Transport operates a registered bus timetabled service giving direct access to Brentwood Community Hospital It is a Hail and Ride service for all members of the public.

Wheelchair users should contact the office to book their space due to limited space available.

Any person wishing to pay to travel on the service will be able to pay a fare on the bus. For persons who hold a valid concessionary bus pass you will need to show your pass to receive free travel from 09:00.

Children under 5 will travel free.
