MiDAS Training
Brentwood Community Transport offers the opportunity for any volunteer driver to drive our minibuses. However, this is subject to having satisfactorily completed the MiDAS training. This is Minibus Awareness Training and focuses on defensive driving.
What is MiDAS?
Minibus Drivers Awareness Scheme is an award winning, nationally recognised, assessment and training scheme for minibus drivers in the voluntary and not-for-profit sectors.
MiDAS is administered nationally by CTA UK (Community Transport Association UK).
The qualification is valid for 4 years, after which time you just need to complete a renewal assessment to remain qualified.
You must be over 21 years of age and hold a full (not provisional) current driving licence with a D1 category.

BCT is an accredited training centre offering training for MiDAS. Some of our volunteers are unemployed and are using their time in a constructive way whilst seeking employment. Gaining any of these qualifications will result in obtaining a recognised certificate and may enhance employment prospects.
